Am I good at this whole hero of justice thing? ...if I am then man, I must be doing something wrong... but anyway! If you have any crit to give, please give it to me!

Anon is off, IP logging is on, and comments are screened.

Dun-da-da-da-daaaaaaah!

[The feed clicks on to Cynthia delivering a sweet pose and a victory tune with her Pokemon! It's a pretty normal setup for her and her Pokemon, actually... her Zebstrika is trying to inch her way out of the camera, her Murkrow looks like he'd rather be anywhere else but with these idiots, and her Braviary is hamming it up with his trainer.

There are also Spritzee. Spritzee everywhere. The Murkrow sneezes occasionally, which doesn't seem to be helping his mood.

But anyway, Cynthia is clearly mugging for a reason, and it's pretty easy to recognize the Zephyr Badge!]

I'm sure Falkner is a tough opponent for some people, but for an amazing team of heroes like us, he was absolutely nothing! Thunderhoof was the real star of the battle considering she basically handled everything on her own, which I bet he found pretty shocking!

So, give her a hand! She's kinda camera shy, but I'm sure she appreciates it!

[...and the Zebstrika just kind of edges out of the camera feed a little more quickly and bashfully than before...

WELL, now that the mugging's over and done with, she relaxes a bit.]

So, anyway, that's the first badge down! They're things you need to like... fly and stuff, right? I'd like to be able to get moving more quickly to see if I can track down more of these weird new Pokemon that keep showing up every day, but I don't know what badges you need to get for that kind of stuff outside of this one. Does it come in any kind of an order, or...?

...oh!

[She suddenly remembers something!]

By the way, if you want any of these smelly pink bird things, I can get them to you easy-peasy! I guess there are a lot of other people advertising them, but I may as well offer!

[Oh, here's a face that hasn't been mugging on the network for quite a while! ...which... isn't through any intention of hers, but she keeps losing her gear and she was extremely busy for a while.

She's mugging from the Pokemon Center for today, which is... well, at least they expect people to have all their Pokemon out, but having someone with a Zebstrika, a Murkrow, a Rufflet, a Ponyta, and a Houndour all inside is still a little... much.]

Oh, wow, I'm so glad I found this thing! I was wondering where I left it. Guess I must've left it lying around when we were taking a break from hurricane cleanup!

...speaking of hurricane cleanup... how is everyone doing, anyway? I guess this would've been a nicer thing to ask when it was actually happening since it's been a week ago, but that was some pretty rough stuff. Anyone... I don't know, have a shark they need to get out of their house still?

[...TIME FOR A CHEESY SMILE AND A THUMBS UP]

Because if you need someone, I'm your girl! We've been doing favors for people for the last week or so, but a hero's work is never done!

[and the feed ends!]

[ROCKET FILTER]

[...and a few minutes later, it picks up in an alleyway behind said Pokemon Center.]

Speaking of missions, I'm thinking of signing up to embark on a new one! Anyone else thinking the ol' cafeteria grub's starting to get a little old and samey? Well, not to fear! If the higher ups approve it, I'm thinking I'll joining the kitchen staff!

...I may not be the most experienced, but I've got a good pedigree! My mom's rhubarb pies were the stuff of legend! Legend, I tell you!

All right, I think I've got it!

[And there Cynthia is, mugging for the camera as usual. Her Pokemon are there, too, but there's... something new.

Well, a pegasus is kind of like a Pokemon, right? ...Kind of...

And she also has a Killer Lance on her, which]

These weird crystal towers seem like they have something to do with why everything's gotten everything's gotten all funky... I mean, they showed up at the same time and everything!

So, one thing's for certain... I've got to take this thing down!

...I mean, I've been wailing on it for days, and I'm pretty sure I've broken about twenty spears on the darn thing. But this will be the last one!

And I'm going to show it off, because you all are going to want to see this!

[...she takes the camera from its position and holds it in her free hand, because she's nothing if not completely ridiculous. She mounts her horse and can be heard laughing gleefully among the flapping of the pegasus's wings as she takes off from the ground, and the crystal gets closer and closer... until she gets in to range, at which point she yells.]

Killer Lance Knockout Speciaaaaaaaal!

[AND SO SHE STRIKES WITH ALL HER MIGHT... and the spear bounces off with a clang.

It is a loud clang, but a clang nonetheless.]

...Aw, nuts! And I hyped it up so much, too...

[Disappointment obvious in her tone, she gives it another, lighter hit for good measure.

...AND THEN THE CRYSTAL SHATTERS BECAUSE APPARENTLY THIS TIME SHE GETS A CRIT]

...

...

Ha ha ha haaaaaaa~! Yeah, I totally expected that! Who's great? I'm great! Once again, the day is saved, thanks to Cynthia, the Knight of Supreme Crystal-Shattering!

[The feed ends, but she touches down in the area to receive adulation from anyone in the general vicinity.]
ajustcaws: (to run where the brave dare not go)
Good day, citizens of Kanto and Johto!

[The intro is heroic as fuck, and the pose is suitably dramatic, but the setting is... well, it's outside a pastry shop. It is hard to look suitably heroic outside of a pastry shop.

...furthermore, only two of her Pokemon are backing her up --- a Rufflet, who is also attempting to LOOK COOL with his wings spread and a rather small, young-looking Ponyta, who is attempting a clumsy Cool Equestrian Pose but is failing at it even harder than the Rufflet and his trainer. A Zebstrika is trying to hide outside the frame, while a Murkrow is eating an eclair in abject boredom]

I hope you're all doing well on this extra special day, because I am doing spectacular! ...I mean, I didn't come up with something extra special for my dramatic appearance because I think all of us could maybe use a little more practice, but we've got all the time in the world!

...though, actually, I kind of have a question about that for people who've been around here for a while! How do you go about building up a Pokemon's confidence, exactly...? Thunderhoof here ---

[--- she brohugs her now mortified-looking Zebstrika into the frame ---]

--- has always been a little on the skittish side, which, you know, I understand! ...I guess! She doesn't seem like she has a problem when the going gets rough, but she's a little... shy, I guess? I thought that she'd be a little more confident when she evolved into a super cool big electric horse that I could probably actually ride, but she hasn't actually changed all that much! I dunno, I guess I'm a little worried... not too worried, but if anyone has advice, I'd like to hear it!

Also, does anyone else want to get some pastries today? Because I want to get some pastries today, on this glorious 14th of May!

[ACTION:]

[It was a normal day in the Team Rocket base.

And then a hero woke up within.

Cynthia read the note; that much should be obvious from the fact that the girl is charging about the base with it in her hand. However, she clearly didn't heed the instructions, given that she's doing so in her armor rather than switching into the uniform. She looks determined, but also confused and lost.

...very slightly confused and very, very lost. She's probably wandering into every part of the base except the ones that Grunts aren't actually allowed to enter (though not for lack of trying). Behind her at all times is a worried looking Blitzle, who seems like she really wants to try and gently grab Cynthia's skirt and lead her back to their room but is very slightly to afraid to.

Do you wish to engage? ...you... might regret it, because at the very least, it's going to be a weird experience.]

[It looks like some random Grunt has taken enough pity on the poor girl to explain to her how the Gear works, because, wonder of wonders, the Gear has turned on and there is a white-haired teenage girl on the screen, looking off to the right.]

So, am I doing this right? Can everyone see this?

[The offscreen individual's response is inaudible. However, it was apparently affirmative, because the girl turns back to the screen, a look of wonder on her face.]

Woah...

[Then her face breaks into a huge grin, and she shakily adjusts the Gear so that she, a timid-looking Blitzle, and a mildly flabbergasted looking Murkrow are...

... well, they're kind of in the frame?

They're occasionally in the frame.

Sometimes.]

Greetings, citizens, and beware, evildoers! I hope you can all see me all right, because the Great Hero Cynthia and her faithful companions, Thunderhoof and Sablefeather, have arrived in... uh, wherever this is!

[Her expression falters a bit, and the camera focuses back on her.]

Well, actually, I'm supposed to be off saving some other world... but I ended up here, instead. Does anyone know what's up with that? I've been asking around, and no one seems to know. I mean, if I'm here, then I bet this world does need saving, because psssh, why else would I have ended up here?

But, uh, I kind of need to save my past, so...

[...a realization seems to strike her.]

Oooh, wait! This has to be some kind of test run! All right, everyone!

[She... does something that shakes the camera and tries to look really dramatic and inspiring, but right now, she's probably just inspiring motion sickness...]

If you need a hero for anything, then I'm your girl! Just send me a messenger, or --- oh, wait! I guess you don't have to because you can just use this thing! Well, I can tackle anything you need me to!

[She grins.

...the camera lingers a bit. The Blitzle, apparently named Thunderhoof, attempts to hide behind Sablefeather, who just looks up at her in exasperation.

... Cynthia looks back to the grunt.]

...uh, how do you end this...?

[After a few seconds, she figures it out.]
